Girrawheen Senior High School
Girrawheen Senior High School has a student population of approximately 550 full time students catering for the learning years 8 through to 12. The community surrounding Girrawheen SHS has a diverse ethnic structure and the student population reflects the diverse cultural nature of the community. Students from Africa, Asia, Europe as well as Indigenous students and students from an Australian background enrol at the school. The school offers a comprehensive curriculum encouraging students to achieve a secondary school graduation and pursue further education and training at university, TAFE or employment post school.
Principal's Message 15th June
All students are resuming full time study after exams. New courses are starting for year 11 and 12 students and semester change is occurring in years 8, 9, and 10. This is an important time of the year for students to consolidate their academic studies for the rest of 2009. Report afternoon occurs in the last week of school with parents and students having the opportunity to meet and discuss report information with class teachers. Year 10 students are entering into the course counselling phase of the year in preparation for year 11 and 12 courses.
